Washing Tips
How to Wash Your Underwear?
At Garçon Français, all our products are crafted from premium materials and reinforced stitching to ensure your garments last as long as possible. To preserve the quality and unique features of our French-made collections, it's essential to follow our washing instructions.
Wash at 30°C maximum
Elastic waistbands and fabrics are heat-sensitive. Washing at 30°C protects the elasticity of the waistband, prevents shrinkage, and reduces energy consumption.
Gentle spin cycle
800 RPM is sufficient — higher speeds can damage the fibers.
Wash inside out
This minimizes wear and fading, keeping your underwear looking newer for longer.
Be careful with colors and whites
White, colored, and patterned fabrics (roosters, ducks, etc.) are more sensitive. Always wash inside out with similar colors to preserve brightness.
NOTE : Avoid washing with new or dark clothing, such as jeans, which may bleed and stain your underwear.
Avoid hand washing or rinsing
For the first wash, use a machine wash at 30°C to properly remove excess dye and finishes.
Air dry
Avoid tumble drying, as heat damages fibers and elastics. Opt for natural air drying in the shade. It's more eco-friendly and cost-effective.
How to Care for Your Clothing and Socks?
Our clothing and socks are designed to last, but they require special care to stay in great condition over time. Follow our washing instructions to extend the life of your beautiful French-made pieces.
Wash at 30°C
Cotton knits don't tolerate high temperatures. Washing at 30°C is highly recommended. This temperature preserves both fibers and colors while reducing your washing machine's energy consumption. It's a win-win at a lower cost!
Spin at 800 RPM
More than 800 RPM isn't ideal — a moderate spin cycle helps preserve the fibers of your socks and T-shirts.
Turn inside out
To withstand daily wear and tear, washing inside out is best. It reduces friction between garments, helping to maintain the colors on the visible parts of your clothes for longer.
Avoid mixing colors
Bright colors and whites don't mix well with dark or new colors (like red). Always wash with similar shades to preserve color vibrancy or the purity of whites.
NOTE : Be cautious of new or dark clothing that may bleed onto your items.
Eco-friendly drying
Skip the tumble dryer. High heat damages and shrinks fibers, especially in socks. Opt for natural air drying in the shade — it's more eco-friendly and far more economical.
How to Properly Wash Your Garçon Français Swimwear?
A made-in-France swimsuit, carefully crafted, deserves proper care to withstand the effects of salt, sand, chlorine, and sunscreen. Follow our recommendations:
Wash after every swim
A machine wash at 30°C is ideal. While on vacation or at the pool, rinse thoroughly with fresh water after each swim to remove chlorine, salt, sand, or sunscreen residues. This prevents premature fabric aging.
Special care is needed for styles with white collars or waistbands — sunscreen, chlorine, or sand can yellow white fabric if not washed properly after each use.
Wash at 30°C and inside out
Synthetic fibers are sensitive to heat. Washing inside out reduces friction and preserves colors. A spin cycle of 800 RPM is more than enough.
Air dry
Avoid tumble drying. Lay your swimsuit flat (in the shade) or on a drying rack for quick, risk-free drying.
